If you are ever feeling overwhelmed, with anything in your life, no matter where you are there is a simple exercise you can do to help centre yourself. Maybe you did this as a child, but with a bit of focus it can become a hugely grounding exercise. Best done lying down outside somewhere (floating in water face up, is also very good and provides a silence like no other).
Stare up into the sky, allow your focus to pick up the movement of clouds, birds, or if there are no clouds look for differences in the blueness of the sky. Allow your mind to become present in the moment, become aware of your breath, and focus on breathing slower, deeper, in through the nose, take it deep, feel your diaphragm rise as the air fills you up, allow your diaphragm to naturally fall slowly exhaling. As your breathing improves, start to let go of any thoughts that are chasing you. The Sky is always above us, it is so very close to us, yet also completely detached from the ground below us, as you stare into its detail you will feel immense serenity, peace will surround you. It will give you a feeling of expansiveness, a feeling that there is much more order than we realise. Take as long as you need.
May the divine beauty of life always guide you towards contentment.
